BUDGETWON · ABOUT

Built in Seoul, for everyone figuring out Korea

BudgetWonis an independent project that turns the confusing, hard-to-price parts of visiting and living in Korea into simple tools and clear guides. The premise is straightforward: instead of another “best of” list, you get a calculator that answers your actual question — what will this cost me, what will I take home, which SIM should I buy — with the math shown and the sources named.

Why trust these numbers?

Everything here is written and sanity-checked by people based in Korea, against real receipts, bills and contracts — not scraped from older blog posts. Prices move, so every tool and money-related guide carries a “last reviewed” date and is checked quarterly. When we’re estimating rather than quoting a fixed figure, we say so.

We’re not lawyers, tax advisors or immigration agents, and nothing here is professional advice. For decisions that carry real consequences — visas, taxes, contracts — we point you to the official source (the NTS, your carrier, your bank) and recommend confirming with a professional.

How we make money

BudgetWonis free, with no signup. We earn through display advertising and a handful of affiliate partnerships — for example eSIMs, hotel bookings and money transfer services. When you use one of those links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These relationships never change which option a tool recommends: the recommendation logic is based only on your inputs, and our editorial choices are independent of any partner. You can read the details in our privacy & disclosure page.
